Who We Are

  • Believers in Christ
  • Imperfect People Modeling Jesus
  • Putting Our Hope in God

The North Pointe Church of Christ is simply a group of people who believe in Jesus Christ and look to Him as our model for living and hope for the future. We do not pretend to be perfect or have all the answers. We acknowledge that we are created by God in His image while also admitting our own weaknesses and struggles with sin. Instead of trusting in our own self-righteousness, we rely fully on God’s grace and mercy made available to us through the sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross. Our hope for the future lies in the resurrection of Jesus and His promised return. Our direction for life comes from the teachings of the Bible and the Holy Spirit who dwells within us as believers, thereby empowering us to become the kind of people God desires.

Our History

The North Pointe Church of Christ started in July 2004. The church at that time was made up of approximately 100 people, most of whom knew each other from another church located in downtown Garland. These Christians had dreamed of planting a church in the expanding communities of Wylie, Sachse and Murphy.

As a Church of Christ, North Pointe’s religious roots come from the American Restoration Movement. This religious movement sought to unite Christians of all denominations by following the explicit teachings of the New Testament and practices of the early church while allowing diversity and tolerance in matters of personal opinion.

At North Pointe we are thankful to God for our religious heritage and seek to continue the ideals set forth by our ancestors. At the same time we acknowledge that we are an independent body of believers who look to Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit in order to best be used by God to reach the present and ever-changing world in which we live.
