Dr. Curtis Williams, Preaching Minister Curtis Williams serves as the Preaching Minister for the North Pointe church. Curtis has been with North Pointe since its first service on July 4, 2004. Curtis graduated from Harding University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry. It was during his time as a medical student at the University of Oklahoma that Curtis felt God pulling him towards ministry, as he wrestled with questions like “Why are we here?” “Why is there suffering?” and “What is life’s purpose?” Having left medical school, Curtis entered the Institute for Practical Ministry in Dallas, Texas where he served as an intern with the Highland Oaks Church of Christ for two years and also earned his Master of Arts degree in Ministry from Oklahoma Christian University. From 1991-1994 Curtis preached for the Victor Valley Church of Christ in Victorville, California. During that time he earned his Master of Divinity degree from Pepperdine University. Curtis returned to Highland Oaks in 1996 working as Singles Minister for 5 ½ years and Minister of Spiritual Formation for 2 ½ years. Curtis earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from Abilene Christian University in 2008. During his down time Curtis enjoys spending time with his wife, Karen; their three boys, Nathan, Logan and Jonah; and their two dogs, Lucie and Jessie. |
